Wrist Immobilizer Created specifically for hand I.V. placement, this wrist immobilizer has a unique design that allows the lower arm, wrist and hand to rest naturally, while maximizing the security of an I.V. catheter. The immobilizer attaches to the surgical chair, and fastens to the hand and arm with gentle but solid Velcro straps. The contoured shape of the immobilizer ensures comfort for the patient, while providing reliability for the doctor. A distal vein (dorsum of the hand) is often chosen by an operator so that if the vein is lost, the I.V. can be repositioned more proximately.
